History

Halfmann Teleskoptechnik is a subsidiary company of Halfmann Maschinenbau. After manufacturing several telescopes for public observatories, the completion of special designs for the European Southern Observatory ESO marked the beginning of professional astronomical construction and engineering. Since 1996 we have delivered numerous telescopes and special designs to the astronomical community.

Infrastructure:
The company was founded in 1970 by Wilhelm Halfmann. It developed into a modern, CNC equipped mechanical engineering company with more than 50 employees.
After several moves a 2500 square meter wide production and assembly hangar arose in 1996. With our experienced staff we are now able to provide complete solutions from raw materials to final assembly for our customers. We set greatest store in our quality assurance.
In 2001 we erected an astronomical observing station in order to operate and test new telescopes under realistic observing conditions.
Recently we extended the company building and doubled our office space.
